The Team Behind SCF's Work
Our leadership brings together deep community knowledge, operational expertise, and cross-sector experience to ensure SCF's work is strategic, accountable, and impactful.
A transformational nonprofit executive and systems leader dedicated to advancing educational equity and workforce development in historically underserved communities. Since joining SCF in 2019, Kamren has led a period of significant organizational growth — expanding SCF's budget from $350,000 to more than $5 million, modernizing internal systems, strengthening board governance, and launching and scaling the DC LEAD initiative. He is a Policy Fellow with the National Black Child Development Institute and a proud graduate of Morehouse College.
Oversees operational execution and leads the DC LEAD scholarship program — one of DC's largest degree attainment initiatives for early childhood educators. Brings deep expertise in large-scale, publicly funded workforce initiatives with rigorous data systems and compliance.
Oversees SCF's Child Development Associate program and educator training pathways. Decades of experience in early childhood education, accreditation, and grant-funded program implementation — ensuring CDA pathways are delivered with fidelity and measurable outcomes.
Oversees financial operations, HR systems, and internal controls across SCF. Brings 15+ years of experience in operations leadership including senior roles in municipal and state government. Ensures fiscal discipline and compliance across multiple funding streams.
Supports early childhood educators as they pursue higher education and advance in their careers. Brings a strengths-based, empathetic approach — listening closely to people and drawing on their experiences to better inform SCF's collective work to empower children and families.
Supports early childhood educators through the DC LEAD program with a special passion for serving the Latino community. Brings firsthand experience as an international student and a background in early childhood education to her work empowering adult learners in DC.

Our leadership approach is grounded in collaboration. We work closely with educators, early learning providers, institutions of higher education, government agencies, and community organizations to strengthen the early learning ecosystem and ensure that workforce investments are coordinated, responsive, and positioned for long-term impact.
